Ridgeback Specialty Show Critiques:

Judge: Ms Nada Nikolic (Denmark) from the 13th National Rhodesian Ridgeback Championship Show - 4th Open Dog in Show

5 years old. Excellent type and body proportions. Excellent head with good proportions. Round amber eyes that matches his liver nose, excellent length and depths of muzzle. Good ear carriage, short neck. Moderate angulations front and rear. Good bone. Good feet. Good depth of chest. Good top line. Good croup and tail setting, excellent coat, colour and ridge, moves a bit wide coming, but excellent from the side. Excellent temperament, well presented.

Judge: Mrs Sue Cameron-Codognotto (VIC) from the 2022 Rhodesian Ridgeback Championship Show - Opposite Class (Open) in Show

Pleasing moderate brown nosed male of excellent breed type and size. Lovely breed typical head displaying strength balancing well with his body, good pigment and correct eye. Pleasingly balanced, with good depth of chest, he could do with a tad more prosternum and a slightly better return of upper arm to complete the picture, good bone, and feet. He was an honest mover, very clean coming and going and showcasing good reach and drive in his effortless fluid gait.

Judge: Ms Diane Stratton from the 2021 Rhodesian Ridgeback Championship Show - Opposite Class (Intermediate) in Show

Well proportioned liver male of correct size. Pleasing head with good pigment. Compact body, well-boned, moderately angled front and rear. Would prefer a little more fill in front and length of brisket but showing correct depth of chest. Strong, well muscled hindquarter. Tight feet. Moved cleanly with good reach and drive.

Xhosa - Australian Champion

We started showing Xhosa when he was 10 months old. We had never been to a show, but we decided to just give it a go. It was very obvious that we were new, and we were helped with what to do and when to go into the ring by some of the local experienced people. A very big thanks to the organisers of the South Burnett National Show Society for your help.

We soon realised that Xhosa was something special as he gained his Australian Championship Title in just 3 months of showing. We have decided to rest Xhosa from showing in general and only bring him out for the larger shows, below is a summary of his achievements in the few short months of showing
