Simba was born 26/06/2025. Simba has been returned to us for rehoming. His family had him for 1 year, but they were unable to keep him. He will need a family that has a descent size yard, as he gets bored with being inside too much. Simba is a lovely dog, but is still a 'teenager'. Simba will need a family that has time to spend with him to get him to adjust to his new home., and to get him out often to socialise him.  Simba is a bit apprehensive, so the socialising will need to be done with patience

There is a expectation that a "good" dog must be endlessly friendly, enthusiastic, and confident around every person and eager to play with every dog they encounter. When you hold that up to human standards, it sounds ridiculous: are you open, chatty, and confident around every single stranger you pass on the street? Of course not. Yet when a dog feels anxious, stressed, or reactive around unfamiliar dogs, owners often feel intense guilt—or worse, try to force greetings to "socialize" them. That pressure only leads to more stress and bigger explosions. The truth is, your dog doesn’t need to love the entire world. They just need a small circle of familiar buddies.

Instead of overwhelming Simba in crowded parks, the solution is building a Core Social Group from the ground up:

Start with one buddy: Forget close-up greetings with multiple dogs in a dog park —just share low-pressure space at a distance with that one buddy.  Let the tension melt: Over a week or so, that quiet exposure works wonders, you'll find Simba naturally drifting into calm nose-to-nose or nose-to-butt greetings without drama.  Build to a small group of buddies: Gradually introduce a second buddy, then a third, until Simba has a few familiar buddies.

It took us 3-4 weeks to get him relaxed and part of our Ridgeback Pack of 8.

Kaylee was born 20/12/2019, and we are selling Kaylee as we would like her to go to a good home and be the centre of attention. She walks great on a lead, is crate trained, and is still very fit and healthy. Kaylee loves to come up and rub her head against your leg so you give her pats. It is time for Kaylee to go to her semi retirement home and get spoilt. Kaylee loves to go for walks, runs, and lay around the back yard. We have raised her as an outside dog, but it would not take much for her to become comfortable inside .
